Co-Curricular Sport

St Paul’s Juniors offers a huge number of co-curricular sporting activities. This gives the pupils a chance to explore different sports that they might not try within the PE and Games curriculum.

These clubs take place before, during and after school and include fencing, aikido, a tennis academy, swimming, rackets, IPL cricket, badminton, water polo, American football, futsal, rugby sevens, an elite cricketer programme, basketball, elite running and table tennis.

House Sports Competitions

Every pupil represents their House in football, rugby, swimming and cross country during their time at the School, with many others being able to do so in tennis, badminton, basketball and rugby sevens. The major House event of the year remains Sports Day, where all pupils from the Lower First to Upper Third Years contribute to the success of their House.

Sports Tours

During their time at St Paul’s Juniors, every pupil is given the opportunity to experience a sports tour. There is an annual football tour, an international cricket tour (visiting for example Antigua, Barbados and St Lucia), a pre-season rugby tour to Biarritz, a tennis tour to Portugal, a ski team that competes at Independent Ski Championships and a ski trip. In recent years, the school has also toured South Africa for rugby, cricket and football, the West Indies for cricket and America for football.

Sports Camps

St Paul’s Juniors run two annual Sports Camps at the beginning of the summer holidays and during the first week of the October half-term. These are open to all pupils, with six sports explored every day at the camp.

Facilities

Pupils at St Paul’s Juniors have access to extensive and well-equipped sports facilities. The School boasts over 45 acres of playing fields, a 25-metre indoor pool, six fives courts, a dojo, a fencing salle and a rackets court. The pupils also have access to a 3G football and rugby pitch and Multi Use Sports Area (MUGA), six all-weather cricket nets and two indoor sports halls.
