Cross-Country

The St Paul’s School Cross-Country runners compete in a wide range of races in the autumn and spring terms, with the main target being the Richmond Trials.

Pupils who place well enough in this go on to represent the borough in the Middlesex Trials, from which the best are subsequently selected for the highly prestigious English Schools’ Cross-Country Championship.

The club is open to all pupils, regardless of ability, with much of the training taking place along the Thames towpath. The ‘Two Bridges Time Trial’ is a regular favourite, with the aim to complete the 4-mile loop of the river, crossing at Barnes and Hammersmith Bridges, as quickly as possible.

The pupils are coached by two highly experienced athletes that currently compete both nationally and internationally.
